Our PTA is made up of hard-working parents & teachers who pool their talents to provide practical support for our school. The officers listed below volunteered to provide leadership this year. Organization and Bylaws

Our PTA is a chartered member of the Fairfax County Council PTA, Virginia PTA and the National PTA. We are governed by a set of uniform Local Unit Bylaws which are set and updated by the VA PTA. We voted in September 2022 to adopt these uniform local unit bylaws as our own. Our bylaws include our PTA's Organizational Structure. Our executive committee is made up our Officers as listed below and our principal, Mrs. Katie Cachine. Our executive board is made up of our Executive Committee and all of the chairpersons of our standing committees. See our Programs page for the list of those volunteers.

President

Janhavi Kirtane

Janhavi Kirtane is the current President of the Waynewood Elementary School PTA. In this role, she oversees and coordinates the work of the executive board. She has previously served as Vice President. She also has served on the Enrichment Committee, spear-headed the development of the Diversity lnclusion Action Group committee and Waynewood's first lnternational Night. Janhavi and her husband Oliver Fritz have three children, a 4th grader, 2nd grader, and 3 year old. She is proud to be a Girl Scout leader and has been an active volunteer in Waynewood for the past 5 years. She works full time on the corporate strategy and innovation team for a publicly traded healthcare services company headquartered in Arlington, Va.

Meghan Matteson

Meghan Matteson serves as the Secretary of the Waynewood Elementary PTA. It is her second year in the two-year position. Meghan has four sons and has been an active member of the Waynewood PTA for 8 years. Next year she will have one son at West Potomac High School, two sons attending Waynewood and one son in preschool. During her time as a PTA member Meghan has served as room parent most years while being a consistent volunteer for numerous special events such as Fall Fun Night etc. She has also been a member of the Ft Hunt Co-Op Preschool board since 2011.

Treasurer

Cameron Cooper

Cameron is the current Treasurer of the Waynewood Elementary School PTA. It is her first year in the two-year position. In her role as Treasurer, Cameron is responsible for managing PTA funds and the annual PTA budget. Cameron has supported the PTA as a room parent for two years and as prize coordinator for the Jog-A-Thon in 2022. Cameron and her husband, Ross, have two boys, one in 2nd grade and one in preschool. She currently works as a Travel Advisor and previously spent over 10 years as an Industrial and Systems Engineer & Operations Research Analyst for the Department of Defense. She is excited to share her business & financial experience and attention to detail with the Waynewood PTA Board as Treasurer.
