Our PTA

Our PTA is made up of hard-working parents & teachers who pool their talents to provide practical support for our school. The officers listed below volunteered to provide leadership this year. Organization and Bylaws

Our PTA is a chartered member of the Fairfax County Council PTA, Virginia PTA and the National PTA. We are governed by a set of uniform Local Unit Bylaws which are set and updated by the VA PTA. We vote each fall to adopt these uniform local unit bylaws as our own. Our bylaws include our PTA's Organizational Structure. Our executive committee is made up our Officers as listed below and our principal, Mrs. Katie Cachine. Our executive board is made up of our Executive Committee and all of the chairpersons of our standing committees. See our Programs page for the list of those volunteers.

President

Stephanie Angle

Stephanie has served in a variety of capacities during the past 12 years as a member of the Waynewood PTA. During the 25-26 school year Stephanie served as the WWES PTA Vice President. She has previously chaired the Spring Fling, served on the 6th grade committee, been a room parent, chaired our Fall Fitness Challenge during COVID for Waynewood, and started and co-chaired the Jog-A-Thon since its inception. Stephanie and her husband Ben have 3 boys. Matthew a 5th grader at Waynewood and Sam, a 9th grader, and Christian, an 11th grader, both at Edison HS. Stephanie works locally as a pediatric physical therapist.

Vice President

Meghan Matteson

Meghan has been an active member of the Waynewood PTA for 12 years. Previously
she served as Secretary. She has four sons, a 1st and 5th grader at
Waynewood, and a 9th and 12th grader, both at West Potomac HS.
During her time as a PTA member Meghan has served as room parent for most years
while being a consistent volunteer for numerous PTA events. In the past she’s also been
involved on the board at her sons’ preschool and is excited to bring her experience back
to the Waynewood PTA Board in the role of Vice President.

Secretary

Erin Fegely

Erin has enjoyed observing and benefiting from the hard work of the PTA and wants to
contribute as an Officer and is excited to become a part of the team. In the past, she
volunteered as a room parent, decorated a trunk for Trunk or Treat, helped out with
Running is Elementary, Spring Fling and Fall Fun Night. She lives in Waynewood with
her two daughters- 6th (Collins) and 4th (Tatum.) She works professionally in sales
calling on interior designers. In her free time, she and the girls love fostering kittens
through Lucky Dog Animal Rescue!

Treasurer

Rachel Demarco

Rachel has previously served on the PTA as the 2025-2026 treasurer, an Enrichment Chair, Senior Spelling Bee Chair, a member of the Book Fair committee, and as a room parent. Rachel is a proud Navy spouse and she and her husband Lou have two children at Waynewood. Vincent is a 7th grader at Sandburg MS and Madeline is a 5th grader. She worked as a mechanical engineer before having kids and now enjoys working at Waynewood as a substitute teacher.
