Our PTA

Our PTA is made up of hard-working parents & teachers who pool their talents to provide practical support for our school. The officers listed below volunteered to provide leadership this year. Organization and Bylaws

Our PTA is a chartered member of the Fairfax County Council PTA, Virginia PTA and the National PTA. We are governed by a set of uniform Local Unit Bylaws which are set and updated by the VA PTA. We vote each fall to adopt these uniform local unit bylaws as our own. Our bylaws include our PTA's Organizational Structure. Our executive committee is made up our Officers as listed below and our principal, Mrs. Katie Cachine. Our executive board is made up of our Executive Committee and all of the chairpersons of our standing committees. See our Programs page for the list of those volunteers.

Mary Frances Daly

Mary Frances has been an active member of the Waynewood PTA for the past 10 years, serving in various roles, including Jogathon co-chair, room parent and previously as the Waynewood PTA secretary and vice president. Mary Frances and her husband, Joe, have three sons: a 1st grader at Waynewood, and a 9th grader and a 10th grader at Edison High School. When not volunteering, Mary Frances is a librarian at a local elementary school.

Stephanie Angle

Stephanie has served in a variety of capacities during the past 11 years as a member of the Waynewood PTA. She has previously chaired the Spring Fling, served on the 6th grade committee, been a room parent, chaired our Fall Fitness Challenge during COVID for Waynewood, and started and co-chaired the Jog-A-Thon since its inception. Stephanie and her husband Ben have 3 boys. Matthew a 4th grader at Waynewood, Sam, an 8th grader at Sandburg, and Christian, a 10th grader at Edison. Stephanie works locally as a physical therapist.

Sara Samford

Sara Samford joined the Waynewood PTA last fall and has volunteered as a room parent, and supported the Thanksgiving Luncheon and Running is Elementary. Sara and her husband, Jon, have two sons - a 1st grader and a 2nd grader. She works professionally as a personal trainer after spending 9 years in the US Army Reserves.

Rachel Demarco

Rachel has previously served on the PTA as Enrichment Chair, Senior Spelling Bee Chair, a member of the Book Fair committee, and as a room parent. Rachel is a proud Navy spouse and she and her husband Lou have two children at Waynewood. Vincent a 6th grader and Madeline a 4th grader. She worked as a mechanical engineer before having kids and now enjoys working at Waynewood as a substitute teacher.
