The PTA organizes many programs and events to provide the following to our school community:

Appreciation

Organizes monthly themed appreciation programs for teachers and staff.

Bingo Night

Fun evening in February for the entire family – bingo and prizes.

Book Fair

Occurs two times a year - Fall, Winter/Spring. Students are able to purchase books in the library during the fairs. Proceeds from the book fairs support the library, the teachers and the students.

Clean Kitchen Club   

The PTA partners with area restaurants (Moe's, etc.) who give a portion of sales from their Waynewood night to PTA.

Fall Fun Night

Fun evening in October full of costumes, food & prizes.

Gobbler Gallop

Family 1 mile fun run held in Nov. Competitive running groups are K-2, 3-4 and 5-6 grades. The top 2 times in each age grouping wins a turkey-donated from local stores.

Regularly checks lost & found area in the school to sort through left items – return to families or donate.

Philanthropy Team 

 

Works with student Community Service Team to develop and support projects that assist Waynewood families in need and other members of the community. Routinely holds a Backpack Food Collection to supply children from our school who are food insecure with two lunches and two breakfasts for the weekend.

Reflections Coordinator

 

Coordinate with our State PTA to register, gather program materials, understand available arts categories and divisions, provide deadlines and instructions, promotes participation, coordinates the review of student submissions, celebrates the entries/winners, wraps up program details.

Room Parent Coordinator

 

Coordinates activities across all classroom room parents. Works closely with Teacher Appreciation Chair.

School Supplies

Organizes delivery/distribution of pre-ordered school supplies boxes typically delivered during Open House.

Season of Giving 

Program is purely charitable, working with area guidance counselors to identify families in need. We coordinate with area schools to find those families in the greatest of needs. The focus is to provide needs not wants in the form of clothing and then with cash donations.

SEEDs - Supporting Education Through Environmental Discovery Squad

Major focus is the design and implementation of an outdoor classroom and other learning spaces in the newly created courtyard. Consists of three mini squads focused on Fundraising/Grant Writing, Design/Implementation and Outreach.

Sixth Grade Activities Committee

This committee raises funds throughout the school year to benefit the current sixth grade class. In collaboration with many parent volunteers, the committee plans and hosts a celebratory graduation picnic and organizes a class legacy gift. All money raised goes towards these special end-of-year activities for the graduates.

Spelling Bee
