Gobbler Gallop

10/18/2025 11:11 am

Get ready to lace up for the 16th Annual Gobbler Gallop at Waynewood Elementary! It’s not just a fun run—it’s a race to the turkey!

Join us for the one-mile race on Saturday, November 22, and be part of the excitement. Whether you’re racing for the top spot in your grade-level heats (8:00–8:20 a.m.) or joining the non-competitive run at 8:30 a.m., it’s a morning for all ages to come together.

Invite your friends, family, and neighbors—everyone can run! Don’t miss your chance to win a turkey for your Thanksgiving dinner—the top female and male finishers in each competitive race take one home. Plus, all registered runners are entered to win fantastic raffle prizes (but you’ve got to be there to claim them!).

Ready to help out? Great! We need volunteers! Sign up here

For questions, please contact the Gobbler Gallop co-chairs at gobblergallop@waynewoodpta.org.

Winter Enrichment: Group Piano Lessons Coming to Waynewood!!

10/1/2025 7:45 am

PianoLab is excited to offer Group Piano Classes at Waynewood Elementary this winter! The 6-Week Piano JumpStart Program will run on Thursdays from 4:15 pm - 5:15 pm from January 14 to Feb 18. Cost is $125 per student. (Full scholarships available.) This is the perfect way to get your student's musical journey started with fun and friends. Please visit our website for details and to register for the program. Space is limited!
We’d love a few parent volunteers to help make the lessons run smoothly. Ideally, we’ll have 1–2 volunteers each afternoon from 4:05-5:05 p.m. You’ll help kids get in the door for our 4:05 start and assist Marilyn, the head instructor, as needed. At least one helper is needed each day, and two is even better!
πŸ‘‰ Please arrive at 4:05 p.m and check in at the office with your photo ID.
πŸ‘‰ Volunteers must be registered with FCPS before helping. If you haven’t registered yet, you can do so here: https://www.fcps.edu/volunteers
Thank you for helping this program get off the ground!
