The 2025 Gobbler Gallop was a success!
We had more than 540 registrants and a drizzly fall morning for the race! We hope all the runners had a fun time! We especially want to thank our many volunteers who helped make this rainy event run smoothly — we appreciate your help! And thank you to all our sponsors!
A special thank you our amazing Gobbler Gallop Co-Chairs who put in many hours to make this event look effortless: McCaughan Andrukonis, Whitney Klinke, Aaricka Oliver, and Kristi Wuellner!
Congrats to the fastest runners for each age group!

We are excited to offer Group Piano Classes at Waynewood Elementary this winter! The 6-Week Piano JumpStart Program will run on Wednesdays from 4:15–5:15 PM, January 14 - March 4th (no class on early release days). Cost is $125 per student. Full scholarships available. This is the perfect way to start your student’s musical journey with fun and friends. For more details or to register, visit www.
Volunteers
We’d love a few parent volunteers to help make the lessons run smoothly. Ideally, we’ll have 1–2 volunteers each afternoon from 4:05-5:05 p.m. You’ll help kids get in the door for our 4:05 start and assist Marilyn, the head instructor, as needed. At least one helper is needed each day, and two is even better! Please click here to volunteer!
Volunteers should arrive at 4:05 p.m and check in at the office with your photo ID. Volunteers must be registered with FCPS before helping. If you haven’t registered yet, you can do so here: https://www.fcps.edu/
Thank you for helping this program get off the ground!

Fairytales Gone Wild!
Students with previous acting experience will love collaborating with the class to create a short show that they’ll perform at the beginning of March. We’ll use improvisation and theatre games to help brainstorm a new take on some very old stories, laughing and maybe even singing along the way. This class is best for students who have some acting basics under their belt and love to create!
Grades 3 through 6
Fridays, Jan. 9 – March 6, 8-9am
Instructor: Roberta Cullen
Price: $195
